Quotes and booking
How do I get a quote?
Fill in our quote form with your details and a little about the garden. It's free and there's no obligation.
Do you need to visit before quoting?
Sometimes we'll need to see the garden first. If so, we'll arrange a time that suits you.
What does a quote include?
Each part of the work that applies to your garden: lifting the old lawn, ground preparation, topsoil, turf, laying and taking waste away. Builders' rubble is listed separately. Prices include VAT.
How do I book?
Say yes to your quote and secure a date from just £100 deposit. It's deducted from your final invoice, and the balance is settled when work starts.
Do you work for landlords, trade and developers?
Yes. Choose the option that fits on the quote form and add a company name if you have one.
On the day
How long does it take?
Most gardens are finished within a day. Larger gardens or ones needing a lot of preparation may need longer, which your quote will make clear.
Do you take the old lawn away?
Yes. Where the old lawn is lifted, we load it up and remove it as part of the work.
What if the only way into the garden is through the house?
That's fine. We protect the floors along the route and carry everything through by hand.
What if the weather is bad?
Turf can go down in light rain. If the ground is frozen or waterlogged, we'll agree a new date with you.
Do I need to be at home?
Not necessarily. We just need a way into the garden and a working outside tap.
Preparation and turf
Do you lay turf over the old lawn?
No. The old lawn is lifted first so the new turf roots into soil. Read why you should never lay turf over old grass.
Will I need topsoil?
It depends on your soil. Thin, poor or uneven ground usually needs some. Your quote will say how much.
Which turf do you lay?
One good-quality, hard-wearing lawn turf that suits most gardens, families, children and pets. We don't offer grades, and we don't lay low-grade turf.
Can you add paving as well?
Tell us on the quote form. Paving can add to the cost and the time the garden takes. Unsure? Ask for both prices: with paving and without.
Aftercare
How often should I water new turf?
Every day for the first week or two unless it rains properly, then less often as it roots. Our aftercare guide has a full watering plan.
When can I mow?
Usually after two to three weeks, once the turf has rooted. See the first mow.
When can I use the lawn?
Light use after about three weeks. Leave heavy play, furniture and trampolines for around six weeks.
